Because in incantation languages like Classical Tamil, each word has many possible meanings to it, with mind humbly invoking Lord Siva's Grace, we just have to look into the classical Tamil dictionary for the meaning of each word in a Tirumantiram verse that yields a coherent and wholesome meaning.

Tirumantiram 148 - Tantra 1 - Man may die suddenly, amidst sensual indulgence

அடப்பண்ணி வைத்தார் அடிசிலை உண்டார்
மடக் கொடியாரொடு மந்தணம் கொண்டார்
இடப்பக்கமே இறை நொந்தது என்றார்
கிடக்கப் படுத்தார் கிடந் தொழிந்தாரே.  148 

Literal Translation   
1  Cook-to-made laid-He food-the ate-He
2  Delicate creeper-like-(female)ones-with secret grabbed-He
3  Left-side-(alone!) mild(ly) pained thus-(said)-He
4  Aside-lay-to lied-(down)-He aside-laid subsided-He(!).

Lucid Translation
1  He ate the food (which he) made (his wife) to cook (for him) 
    and (his wife) laid (in front of him)
2  He grabbed the secret with the delicate creeper-like female (his wife).
3  He said that the left side of his body pained mildly.
4  He lied down to lay aside (the pain).  (But,) He subsided, (having been) laid aside.

Tirumantiram 147 - Tantra 1 - Upon death, not the body but its ash is left over for protection

சீக்கை விளைந்தது செய்வினை மூட்டு-இற்ற 
ஆக்கை பிரிந்தது அலகு பழுத்தது
மூக்கினில் கை-வைத்து மூடிட்டுக் கொண்டு-போய்க் 
காக்கைக்குப் பலி காட்டியவாறே.  147.

Literal Translation
1  Phlegm formed did-action rise-broken
2  Rope separated chin grey-colour-assumed
3  Nose-in rope-inner-coil-keeping taken-gone
4  Protection-for ash produced (lo! counted thus)

Lucid Translation
1  With phlegm formed, rising (association with physical frame) of past action (impressions) broken,
2  With (breath-) rope (binding Ida and Pingala nerves) separated and chin assumed grey colour
3  With physical frame taken and gone, keeping 'rope-inner-coil' in nose,
4  Protection-for ash produced (from cremation of the physical frame) (lo! counted thus)


Tirumantiram 146 - Tantra 1 - Upon disembodiment, our subtle body does not know how to re-enter the body

காலும் இரண்டும் முகட்டு-அலகு ஒன்று-உள(து)
பால்-உள் பருங்கழி முப்பத்து-இரண்டு உள
மேல்-உள கூரை பிரியும் பிரிந்தால்-முன்
போல்-உயிர் மீளப் புகல்-அறியாதே.  146.

இரண்டும் - இரண்டுபடும்

1  Air-even separation-befalling atop-nose one-abides
2  Whiteness-having thick-stick(/s) 32 abide
3  Expanded-in-front-abiding sand-house separate-will separates-if, Before-
4  -Like-life return-to entering knows-not (lo! coursed and counted thus)

1  One nose, (wherein) even air befalls separation (through its 2 nostrils),
    abides at the top (in our physical frame)
2  32 thick sticks (teeth), having whiteness, abide (in our physical frame)
3  (Our subtle body, abiding) expanded in front (of our physical frame, like a) sand-house,
    will separate (itself on our death, from our physical frame)
4  If it thus separates, it knows not how to return to and enter the physical frame like
    (it was) before (death) (lo! coursed and counted thus)

Tirumantiram 145 - Tantra 1 - Upon our disembodiment, our relatives forget us in a short while

ஊரெலாம் கூடி ஒலிக்க அழுதிட்டுப் 
பேரினை நீக்கிப் பிணம்-என்று பேரிட்டுச் 
சூர்-ஐயம் காட்டிடைக் கொண்டு-போய்ச் சுட்டிட்டு
நீரினில் மூழ்கி நினைப்பு ஒழிந்தார்களே.  145.

Literal Translation
1  Town-all gathered resound-to bewailed
2  Name removed corpse-as named
3  'Small-time'-shaking crematorial-place taken-gone scorched
4  Water-in submerged love impoverished (lo! coursed and counted thus)

Lucid Translation
1  With all town-people gathered and (relatives) having resoundingly bewailed (over death)
2  Having removed dead person's name and named (dead person's body) as 'corpse',
3  Having taken it to the 'small-time'-shaking (due to sorrow-filled atmosphere)
    crematorial place and scorched it there, and
4  Having submerged (themselves) in water, (lo!)
    they became impoverished in love towards dead relative
    (coursed and counted thus).

'small-time'-shaking crematorial place - crematorial place that shakes any one
 at least for a small time due to its sorrow-filled atmosphere

Tirumantiram 144 - Tantra 1 - Impressions and wisdom alone accompany us upon disembodiment

பண்டம்-பெய் கூரை பழகி விழுந்த-அக்கால்
உண்ட அப்பெண்டிரும் மக்களும் பின்-செலார்
கொண்ட விரதமும் ஞானமும் அல்லது
மண்டி அவருடன் வழி நடவாதே.   144.



Literal Translation
1  Knowledge-pouring sand-house having ruled fallen-that-time
2  Agreeable-to-became those-women-and folks(-and) behind-go-will-not
3  Beheld mark-and wisdom(-and) other[one(s)-than]held
4  Kneeled-down him-with path traverse-will-not (lo! coursed thus!)

Lucid Translation
1  At that time when the knowledge-pouring sand-house (of the subtle body) 
    having ruled has fallen (outside the physical frame on death),
2  those women and folks, who became agreeable to that subtle body and its 
    knowledge, while alive in the physical frame), will not go behind it (the subtle 
    body).
3  Other than the beheld mark(/s) of impression and wisdom,
4  lo! (anything else) will not traverse the path (outside the physical frame), 
    kneeling down with him (!) (that disembodied subtle body)

Tantra 1 - Tirumantiram 143 - Body is only for releasing oneself from good and bad and regaining our simple unshaken spirituality

யாக்கை நிலையாமை - Bondage non-persistence

மண்-ஒன்று கண்டு-ஈர் இருவகைப் பாத்திரம்
திண்-என்று இருந்தது தீ-வினை சேர்ந்தது
விண்ணின்று நீர்-வீழின் மீண்டும்-மண் ஆனாற் போல்
எண் இன்றி மாந்தர் இருக்கின்றவாறே.  143.


Literal Translation
1  Atom-One Thread-Ball-Pulled-(out) 2-Type (water-)Paths
2  Unshaken-thus abided Knowing-2 adjoined
3  Sky-from water-falls-if again-soil became-like
4  Mind-atomicity-without folks abiding way(!)

Lucid Translation
1  A thread-ball made of one atom (of ego or body-consciousness)
    is pulled out into (the) 2 types of (water-)paths 
    (of Ida and Pingala spiritual currents).
2  Abided unshaken thus, and knowledge of 2 (the pairs of opposites, good and evil
    adjoined (and lost its unshaken firmness thus).
3  Like water, if (it) falls from the sky, became soil again,
4  folks abided without mental atomicity this way *

Tirumantiram 142 - Tantra 1 - Beholding Siva's dance, devotees reach the sky of space

போதம்-தரும் எங்கள் புண்ணிய நந்தியைப்
போதம்-தனில் வைத்துப் புண்ணியர் ஆயினர்
நாதன் நடத்தால் நயனம் களி-கூர
வேதம் துதித்திடப் போய்-அடைந்தார் விண்ணே.  142.

Literal Translation
1  Wisdom granting our Holy Nandi (Siva)
2  Intelligence (it)self-in maintaining, Meritorious became-they
3  Lord dance-by eye joy-abounding
4  Veda Praising, (having) gone-(they-) reached Sky-at (looking above and counted thus).

Lucid Translation
1  By maintaining their intelligence in our Holy Nandi (Siva), who grants Wisdom,
2  they (the devotees of Siva) became meritorious.
3  With the joy for the eye(s) abounding by the Lord's (Siva's) dance, and
4  Veda Praising, they (the devotees of Siva) went towards and reached the Sky (of Space).
